The new season of a TV show called “Dancing With the Stars” has started. It began on ABC, and it’s the 32nd season. They began the season just two days after they made a tentative deal with a group called the Writers Guild of America.
This season is special because the main judge, Len Goodman, passed away. At the beginning of the show, the hosts, Alfonso Ribiero and Julianne Hough, said that now, the contestants will compete for something called the “Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy” in his memory.
Some interesting moments from the first episode included Rylee Arnold, who is the younger sister of Lindsay Arnold, making her debut on the show as a professional dancer. Sadly, the judges didn’t think her partner, Harry Jowsey, did very well. He got one of the lowest scores of the night, tied with Tyson Beckford and Matt Walsh.
The highest score of the night went to Charity Lawson, who used to be on a show called “The Bachelorette,” and her partner Artem Chigvintsev. They got a score of 22, which was the best of the night. Jason Mraz, who danced with Danielle Karagh, and Ariana Madix, who danced with Pasha Pashkov, tied for second place with a score of 21 out of 30. Ariana even wore a dress that reminded people of what she wore on another show called “Vanderpump Rules,” and she talked about gaining confidence after facing challenges.
But, in the end, one pair had to leave the show. Mauricio Umansky and Matt Walsh were in the bottom two, and Walsh, who danced with Koko Iwasaki, was the one who had to leave.
